A l'ombre du platane

A l'ombre du platane offers two Double Rooms with Private Bathrooms, each for two people. They measure 13 m² and each has a private entrance and a terrace overlooking the garden. Both rooms have a shower, a flat-screen TV and soundproofing. Each room includes one large double bed. The bathroom also has a toilet and a hairdryer; towels are provided.

A dining table completes the facilities in each room, along with outdoor furniture and a clothes drying rack. The terrace lets you enjoy views of the garden. Both rooms offer similar facilities, with a double bed, a private bathroom and a private entrance.

The outdoor areas include a garden, a terrace and furniture for dining outdoors. Barbecue facilities are also available, and the outdoor dining area lets you enjoy the garden at different times of day. The rooms also have a terrace with a garden view.

Pointe-Rouge is a residential area in southern Marseille, between the beaches, green spaces and hills of the Calanques massif. The seafront sets the pace for walks and water sports, while the neighbourhood’s streets retain a local feel. This part of the city appeals to travellers who want to enjoy the coast while keeping Marseille and its central districts within reach. Pointe-Rouge Beach is 450 m from the house.

Calanques National Park starts in this southern part of the city and offers hiking trails, rocky landscapes and Mediterranean coves. Château Borély, 1.9 km away, houses a museum of decorative arts, faience and fashion, set within a park. Borély Park extends the walk with its paths and places to relax. Rond-Point du Prado metro station, 3.7 km away, provides access to other parts of Marseille; Saint-Charles railway station is 6 km away. Marseille Provence Airport is 31 km away.

For a day by the water, you can follow the coast towards nearby beaches, then spend another outing on the Calanques trails. Summer days are often hot and the coast attracts more visitors; spring and early autumn are well suited to walks. The mistral can make the sea rougher and cool the air, so bring an extra layer for walks by the sea. The area also lets you combine a morning swim with a visit to Château Borély and its museum.
