Beausoleil

Beausoleil is rented as a whole: this 70 m² holiday home has two bedrooms and two bathrooms and can accommodate up to four people. The first bedroom has a double bed; the second has two single beds. This arrangement suits a family or two people travelling together, while keeping the sleeping spaces separate. Each bedroom has its own private bathroom.

The fitted kitchen gives you useful independence when it comes to meals. It includes an oven, a refrigerator, a dishwasher, a hob and a coffee machine. The house also has a washing machine, a flat-screen TV and air conditioning. The balcony is its outdoor space, while the bath and shower let you choose between two ways to freshen up. A private entrance completes the independent accommodation.

Avignon is a Provençal city on the left bank of the Rhône, known for its ramparts and medieval heritage. Beausoleil is in the old town, among the network of old streets linking the rampart gates with squares and monuments. The city is lively, shaped by its heritage, markets and cultural activities; it suits a couples’ break as well as a family stay.

The Palace of the Popes is a major attraction, with its monumental halls and exhibitions devoted to the city’s history. Pont Saint-Bénézet, famous from the song, offers another view of the Rhône and its banks. Rocher des Doms, a garden on high ground near the cathedral, is a place to take a break and enjoy the scenery. Avignon-Centre station is 1.4 km from the accommodation; it makes train travel easy, and you do not need a car to explore the centre. Free public parking is available near the house.

Spring and autumn are good times for walks through the streets and visits to the historic sites, with generally pleasant temperatures. In July, the Festival d’Avignon brings the city to life with shows and performances at various venues. For a day of sightseeing, you can start at the Palace of the Popes, walk through the centre, then finish at Rocher des Doms above the river. Exploring the villages and landscapes of Vaucluse is easier by car.
