It is particularly lively during the summer holidays, while the milder seasons are well suited to walks and visits around the village.

Grande Mer Beach is 150 m away and offers swimming right by the centre. Château de Cassis overlooks the port and rooftops, while the Museum of Popular Arts and Traditions explores aspects of local life. Calanques National Park has trails leading to coves and cliffs; Port-Miou Calanque, 2.2 km away, is a popular starting point for walks along the coast. You can also explore the coastline from the sea by boat from the port. Cassis train station is 2.5 km from the centre, uphill; a car or taxi makes the journey easier with luggage.

In summer, plan your walks for the cooler hours and leave time to enjoy the seafront. In spring and autumn, temperatures are often better suited to the Calanques trails and walks in the hills. You could start the day at the market and port, continue with a swim or boat trip, then finish around the quays. Hiking trails require good shoes and water, especially in hot weather.
