La Banasterie

La Banasterie offers several double rooms, two suites and an apartment, with areas ranging from 15 to 60 m². The double rooms accommodate two people and have a private bathroom, air conditioning, a flat-screen TV and a coffee machine. Their decor varies; some have a balcony or terrace, and the bathrooms are fitted with a bath or shower.

The suites offer more space and can accommodate up to three people. The Suite with Terrace has an outdoor area, while the Junior Suite includes a private lounge. Designed for four people, the apartment has two bedrooms, a seating area, a kitchenette and a dining area. It differs from the rooms with its kitchen facilities, including a hob, refrigerator and microwave. Each room has individual decor, and accommodation options range from double rooms to suites and a two-bedroom apartment.

La Banasterie brings together several indoor and outdoor spaces for different ways to spend your time at the property. The sun terrace and outdoor furniture offer a place to enjoy the fresh air, while the shared lounge is somewhere to take a break or read. There is also a bar in the house. Rooms have a private bathroom, air conditioning and a flat-screen TV; a coffee machine and electric kettle are also provided.

Wi-Fi is free in the rooms. Bathrooms are equipped with towels, a toilet, free toiletries and a hairdryer. Bed linen and a socket near the bed are also provided. The house also has a safe, heating and soundproofed areas. The upper floors are accessible by stairs only. Daily housekeeping is available. La Banasterie has no car park, but public parking is available nearby for an additional charge.

Avignon is a Provençal city on the banks of the Rhône, known for its walled historic centre and medieval heritage. La Banasterie is in the old town’s narrow streets, where historic façades, shaded squares and passageways make for a lively neighbourhood throughout the year. The area suits visitors who want to explore the heritage on foot and enjoy the atmosphere of a southern French city between visits.

The Palais des Papes dominates the area: this vast fortified residence bears witness to Avignon’s role in the 14th century. Pont Saint-Bénézet, associated with the song “Sur le pont d’Avignon”, offers a historic walk beside the river. Notre-Dame-des-Doms Cathedral and the Musée du Petit Palais add to the sights around Place du Palais. Avignon-Centre station is 850 m away and connects the centre with regional routes. The city walls frame walks through the central streets, where you can also stop at Place de l’Horloge or the garden at Rocher des Doms.

A day could begin with a visit to the Palais des Papes, continue through the galleries of the Musée du Petit Palais and end with a walk towards the Rhône. In summer, the Festival d’Avignon fills the city with performances and cultural events; temperatures can be high, making morning visits pleasant. Spring and late season offer good conditions for walks in the old town. To explore beyond the city walls, the landscapes of the Luberon and Provençal villages are easier to reach by car.
