La Demeure Insoupçonnée

The five rooms at La Demeure Insoupçonnée are air-conditioned and each has a private bathroom and a terrace. They range in size from 25 to 37 m², with accommodation for two people and a family room for up to three. Views vary by room: garden, sea, swimming pool or Cap Canaille. Several room categories have a kitchenette, and some provide a coffee machine.

The differences are also apparent in the facilities. The Superior Double Room has 35 m² and a dining area with kitchen facilities. The room with a spa bath combines views of the sea, garden and swimming pool. The largest room, the Family Room, has a bathroom set in a natural cave and a kitchenette. The other double rooms have a terrace and either a garden view or a partial sea view.

La Demeure Insoupçonnée provides free public parking on site and free Wi-Fi throughout the property. The rooms are air-conditioned and equipped with a flat-screen TV. Outside, the garden, sun terrace, outdoor furniture and dining areas let you enjoy meals or relax. A barbecue and picnic area complete these spaces.

Breakfast can be served in your room; fruit, wine and champagne are among the offerings, with special diet menus available on request. There is also a snack bar and a tea/coffee maker. Cassis is a Provençal port between the limestone cliffs of Cap Canaille and the coves of Calanques National Park. The old village is arranged around the port, with colourful façades, fishing boats and terraces overlooking the water. The hills are dotted with pine woods and vineyards and crossed by walking trails; the terrain gives the town the feel of a coastal village backed by hills, unlike the long sandy beaches along the coast.

Corton Beach is 970 m away, and Grande Mer Beach is 1 km away, near the port and the old town. Château de Cassis, above the village, is within walking distance of the central streets. Further afield, Port-Miou Calanque, 3.1 km away, marks the start of a landscape of cliffs and coastal trails. Cassis railway station is 3 km away and connects the town to the regional rail network. A car makes it easier to reach the other calanques and neighbouring villages, while the centre is easy to explore on foot.

In spring and autumn, the temperatures make walks along the trails pleasant, while the vineyards around the village provide another reason to explore the hinterland. In summer, the beaches and port are busier; setting out early lets you enjoy the coastal paths before the busiest hours. You could spend a day swimming in the morning, having lunch near the port and then walking in the hills. The mistral can cool the air and make the sea rougher; planning a stop in the shelter of the narrow streets or at the museum lets you adapt your plans.
