Le Mas des Genets

Le Mas des Genets offers a two-bedroom house arranged to accommodate up to four people. This entire 80 m² house has a private bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen and a dining area; the living area and fireplace complete the living spaces. Air conditioning adds to the indoor comfort, and the private entrance gives you access to the whole property.

The two bedrooms have different beds: one has a double bed and the other has two single beds. The terrace and windows offer views of the garden, pool and mountains. The house also has a flat-screen TV, dishwasher, oven and microwave. Bed linen and towels are provided. This layout is particularly suitable for families or small groups who want to share a house while keeping separate bedrooms.

Le Mas des Genets has a private outdoor swimming pool, a garden and a furnished terrace. Saint-Rémy-de-Provence is in the Alpilles, amid Provençal landscapes of scrubland, olive groves and limestone hills. The town combines a lively old centre with ancient heritage and a cultural life linked to Vincent van Gogh. You can explore its narrow streets, squares and old façades on foot, while the surrounding area has walking trails, wine estates and country roads. La Haute Galine, where the house is located, is more rural than the town centre.

The archaeological site of Glanum, with its Roman and Gallic remains, is 2.7 km away. Nearby, the Saint-Paul-de-Mausole Priory is associated with Van Gogh’s stay in the region. In the centre of Saint-Rémy, the Musée Estrine has art collections and a space dedicated to the painter; the Collegiate Church of Saint-Martin is one of the landmarks of the old town. Avignon, with the Palace of the Popes and its historic centre, makes a good day trip, as do the villages and landscapes of the Alpilles. Orgon railway station is one option for reaching the area by train, but a car makes it easier to travel between the sights and villages.

Spring and autumn are pleasant times to walk in the Alpilles and visit the villages without the intense summer heat. In summer, plan outdoor activities for the morning or late afternoon; the markets and squares of Saint-Rémy also offer a glimpse of local life. In late June and July, lavender fields add colour to some Provençal landscapes. You can combine a visit to Glanum with a walk through the old town and a meal featuring local produce.
