Le Refuge D'Abel offers a two-bedroom, 70 m² holiday home that can accommodate up to six guests. The layout suits families and groups who want to stay together while having separate rooms. There are two double beds in the bedrooms and a sofa bed in the living room, giving the house three sleeping spaces.

The private kitchen brings together the essentials for preparing meals: a hob, oven, fridge, microwave, kettle and coffee machine. The private bathroom has a shower or a bath. Le Refuge D'Abel is in the city, away from the busiest tourist routes, while the station and monuments are within walking distance.

The vast 14th-century fortified residence of the popes, the Palais des Papes, overlooks the square of the same name and is the main sight in the centre. Pont Saint-Bénézet, known as the Pont d'Avignon, retains some of its arches above the Rhône. The Collection Lambert displays contemporary art in two townhouses, while the Musée Angladon brings together works by European masters, among others. Avignon-Centre station is 720 m away; the Palais des Papes is 1.6 km away and Pont Saint-Bénézet is 1.8 km away.

The old town is easy to explore on foot, among the city walls, museums and squares. In July, the Festival d'Avignon fills the city with performances in historic venues, so it's best to plan visits and evenings in advance. The rest of the year, you can spend a day visiting the Palais des Papes, walking along the city walls and crossing the Rhône to admire the city's silhouette. The Provençal climate makes spring and autumn pleasant for walking, while summer is hot and very busy.
