Mas de Capelou

Le Mas de Capelou offers double and triple rooms, a family room, and two- or three-bedroom apartments. The rooms have a private bathroom, air conditioning, a flat-screen TV and a coffee machine; several offer garden views. The family room has two sleeping areas and a private terrace, while the Comfort Triple Room combines a large double bed with a single bed.

The apartments have a kitchen, a living room and one or more separate bedrooms. Depending on the unit, you’ll find a balcony, a terrace, a dishwasher and garden views. They range in size from 25 to 120 m²; capacity varies by category, with some apartments designed to accommodate several guests. Some units have two bathrooms, and the three-bedroom apartment has two bathrooms and a private entrance.

Le Mas de Capelou provides free private indoor parking, with no prior reservation required, as well as free Wi-Fi throughout the property. The rooms and apartments are air-conditioned; several units have a private bathroom and overlook the garden. Families can choose a family room or an apartment with several bedrooms. A shared kitchen is equipped with a coffee machine and an electric kettle.

The restaurant serves dinner by reservation, and breakfast is served American-style and as a buffet. An on-site café, a bar and a snack bar complete the dining options, with children’s menus and options for some special diets available on request. Outside, the garden, terraces, sun loungers and heated outdoor pool with a bar offer spaces to enjoy the grounds. Massages, bicycle hire, outdoor games and activities such as hiking and canoeing are also among the facilities and leisure options available.

Avignon stretches along the banks of the Rhône, between its old centre, enclosed by ramparts, and the more recent districts. Le Mas is in the Le Pontet area, north of the historic centre. This part of the urban area offers a less urban setting than the streets of the centre, while still allowing you to reach Avignon’s monuments and walking routes by car. You can alternate visits to historic sites with breaks in gardens and outings to the landscapes of Vaucluse.

The Palais des Papes, a vast medieval papal residence, is 4.5 km away; its square also has cafés and terraces. Pont Saint-Bénézet, made famous by the song, is 4.4 km away and offers a walk over the Rhône with views of the city. The ramparts mark the perimeter of the old centre, where you can explore narrow streets, squares and historic buildings on foot. Sorgues–Châteauneuf-du-Pape railway station is 3.7 km away, while Avignon Sud railway station is 5 km away. A car makes it easier to get around from the guest house and take trips to the villages and wine estates of Vaucluse.

Avignon is worth visiting in any season: spring and autumn are well suited to walks in the city and trips into the surrounding countryside. In July, the Festival d’Avignon brings theatre and performances to venues and streets; the city is particularly busy then. In summer, plan monument visits for the cooler hours, followed by a break in the garden or by the pool. A day can combine the Palais des Papes, the streets within the city walls and a walk along the Rhône.
