Villa Amara

Villa Amara has three suites, all designed for two people and featuring a private bathroom, a kitchen and a lounge area. They also have air conditioning, a flat-screen TV, a minibar and a coffee machine. Each suite has a private entrance and a terrace; views look out over the garden, pool or inner courtyard. The beds are large double beds.

Two suites measure 70 m²: L’Impériale and L’Estivale. Both have a bath and a walk-in shower, as well as a separate lounge area. The Superior King Suite - La Secrète, measuring 50 m², also has a terrace overlooking the garden and a fitted kitchen; its bathroom has a shower or bath. All three suites are soundproofed and include a refrigerator.

Villa Amara’s outdoor spaces include a garden, a sun terrace and outdoor furniture for dining outside. A picnic area and an outdoor dining area complete the facilities. The heated outdoor swimming pool is private; sun loungers and pool or beach towels are provided. Yoga classes and cooking classes are also among the activities on offer.

The suites have a fitted kitchen, a dining area and a coffee machine. Continental, vegetarian or gluten-free breakfast can be served in the suite, in the garden or in the lounge. There is a café on site, and a minibar as well as a kettle or coffee machine are available in the accommodation. The guest house has a concierge service and offers private check-in and check-out. Private on-site parking is available by reservation for €20 per day. Wi-Fi is free throughout the guest house.

Aix-en-Provence combines old lanes, squares lined with plane trees and façades in warm colours. In the historic centre, fountains punctuate walks and grand town houses bear witness to the city’s past. Pedestrian streets, markets and terraces give Aix a lively pace without diminishing its Provençal character. Art lovers can also discover traces of Paul Cézanne, who was born in the city and drew inspiration from the surrounding landscapes.

Parc Rambot, 100 m away, has shaded paths for an outdoor break. Couvent des Prêcheurs is nearby, while Musée Granet, 550 m away, presents art collections and works from the Planque Collection. Atelier Cézanne, 1.1 km away, offers a glimpse into the painter’s workplace. Aix-en-Provence railway station is 1.2 km away; the TGV station is outside the centre. Marseille-Provence Airport is 20 km away. Private parking at Villa Amara is paid and must be reserved.

Spring and autumn are well suited to exploring on foot, when temperatures are milder. In summer, the Provençal heat invites you to alternate between museums, shady breaks and a swim. A day can begin in the central squares and their markets, continue at Musée Granet, and then take in places associated with Cézanne. The peaks of Montagne Sainte-Victoire, often depicted by the artist, also offer hiking routes nearby. Aix remains a lively destination all year round, with cultural events and shopping streets.
