Biovès Gardens, in town, are known for their plantings and citrus trees. The Jean Cocteau Museum displays works by the artist and is near the old port. Menton railway station connects the town to other stops along the coast; Nice Airport is 24 km away. The house is 2.3 km from Marché Beach and the Jean Cocteau Museum.

In spring, the gardens and streets are pleasant for walks before the heat and summer crowds arrive. In summer, the seafront brings the days to life, with a swim followed by a stroll through the lanes of old Menton. Autumn is still a pleasant time to explore the town on foot and spend time in its gardens. A trip to the hilltop villages inland is an easy addition to a coastal visit; the Château de Sainte-Agnès, in the village of the same name, offers a glimpse of medieval heritage and mountain scenery.
