Auberge Du Riou

L’Auberge Du Riou offers five room categories: Standard Double Room, Basic Triple Room, Twin Room, Superior Double Room and Superior Triple Room. All are 18 m² and have a private bathroom. They are equipped with a desk, a TV and a refrigerator; the bathrooms include a shower or bath, a hairdryer and free toiletries.

The double and twin rooms accommodate two people, while the triple categories can sleep up to three guests. Views of the garden, mountains or river distinguish several rooms. Both superior categories have a terrace; the Superior Double Room also has a private entrance and outdoor furniture. The Twin Room is on the ground floor and has access to the garden. The first-floor rooms are accessed by stairs.

L’Auberge Du Riou has a restaurant, bar and café on site. The restaurant offers children’s menus, and the rooms have a kettle or refrigerator, depending on their facilities. The garden and terraces provide outdoor spaces, while hiking and cycling are among the activities available nearby.

Puget-Rostang is a mountain village in the Alpes-Maritimes, in the Roudoule valley. Its houses and narrow streets sit amid wooded slopes, mountains and small roads connecting the villages of the hinterland. The setting suits travellers who prefer walks, rural scenery and village stops to urban sightseeing.

In the village, the Église de la Trinité and the Écomusée du pays de la Roudoule offer an insight into local heritage and the history of the valley; they are 80 m and 90 m away, respectively. The paths around Puget-Rostang cross mountain scenery and connect several hamlets. Puget-Théniers, 3.1 km away, is the neighbouring town and has a railway station. The valley also leads towards the villages of La Penne, Rigaud and La Croix-sur-Roudoule. For longer trips, the entrance to Mercantour National Park is 19 km away.

Hiking is mainly enjoyed from spring to autumn, with walks adapted to the weather and elevation changes. You could start the day with a visit to the ecomuseum, then continue along a valley path or explore the surrounding villages. In summer, bring water and suitable footwear for the trails; in spring and autumn, milder temperatures are well suited to outdoor walks. A car makes it easier to travel between the different villages and hiking trailheads in this rural area.
