Bastide Beaudinard

The five accommodation options at La Bastide Beaudinard have a private bathroom, air conditioning and a fully equipped kitchen. The two family suites, measuring 27 and 30 m², sleep four people and have a sofa bed as well as a large double bed. One overlooks the garden and the other the mountains. They also differ in size, with a 30 m² suite and a 27 m² Junior Suite.

The other three categories are double or twin rooms for two people, measuring between 17 and 18 m². Two rooms overlook the garden, one of them also with a view of the pool; the twin room has a mountain view. The accommodation options have a flat-screen TV, coffee machine and dishwasher. Some also have an outdoor dining area and garden furniture.

The outdoor areas at La Bastide Beaudinard include a garden, terrace and outdoor dining area. Outdoor furniture and a sun terrace let you make the most of fine weather. The pool has sun loungers, parasols and a fence; a hot tub and massages are also available for relaxation. Yoga classes are offered, along with badminton equipment and a tennis court.

Activities listed among the facilities include hiking, cycling, walking tours, bike tours and horse riding. Bicycle rental, tours or classes about local culture, and a tour desk add to the options. Breakfast can be served in your room; an on-site café, fruit, and wine or champagne are also available. Special diet menus are available on request. Aubagne is a Provençal town east of Marseille, between the Mediterranean coast and the Garlaban hills. The town is closely associated with Marcel Pagnol, who drew inspiration for several stories from the surrounding landscapes and villages. You can explore its centre along the streets, squares and markets, while the nearby hills give the region a more rural character. La Bastide Beaudinard is in a residential area of Aubagne, within walking distance of the train station and urban areas.

Le Petit Monde de Marcel Pagnol and the writer’s birthplace are among the attractions devoted to local history. Calanques National Park offers cliffs, coves and pine forests; choose routes according to the area and season. Aubagne train station is 1.9 km from the country house, and trains connect you to neighbouring towns. Marseille and its museums, including Palais Longchamp, offer further cultural outings. Marseille-Provence Airport is 31 km away.

Spring and autumn are well suited to walks in the hills and visits to the town, with temperatures often milder than in the height of summer. In summer, trips to the Calanques require some planning, particularly because of the heat and the number of visitors to coastal sites. You can spend a day exploring Pagnol’s world and strolling through central Aubagne, then relax in the garden or by the pool. For a longer excursion, Marseille offers museums, architecture and walks around the Vieux-Port.
