Chalets Shangrila

All four accommodations are self-contained two-bedroom chalets, measuring 80 or 90 m² and sleeping up to six people. Each has a kitchenette, a private bathroom, a dishwasher, a flat-screen TV and a terrace with mountain views. Sleeping arrangements vary by chalet and include double beds, single beds, bunk beds or a sofa bed.

Three accommodations are named “Two-Bedroom Chalet with Hot Tub”. They have a hot tub, while the chalet simply named “Chalet” does not. Two of the chalets with a hot tub are 90 m² and have a balcony; the third is 80 m² and stands out for its private entrance. The chalet without a hot tub is also 80 m² and has bunk beds. Some chalets also have a fireplace or a washing machine. These differences give you a choice of layouts for a mountain stay.

The chalets have furnished outdoor areas, including a terrace, garden furniture and an outdoor dining area. A barbecue and barbecue facilities let you prepare meals outside. The garden offers space to relax after a day on the trails or ski slopes. Kitchens include a kitchenette and dining table, and, depending on the facilities, an oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, toaster and electric kettle.

For winter activities, you’ll find ski storage and ski equipment hire on site. Hiking, skiing and fishing are among the activities available nearby. Private parking is free. Free Wi-Fi is available in the shared areas. Media facilities include a flat-screen TV, radio and DVD player. Books, DVDs or music for children are also available. Pets are allowed, possibly for an additional charge. Some areas are upstairs and accessible only by stairs; one accommodation is on the ground floor.

Chaillol 1600 is a small mountain resort in the Champsaur Valley, south of the Écrins. The landscape combines alpine pastures, forests and peaks; visitors come to ski in winter or hike in the alpine terrain in warmer weather. The altitude and rural surroundings give your stay an outdoor focus, away from large towns.

Chaillol ski resort is 60 m away, and several ski lifts serve the area, including Piou Piou at 350 m. The slopes are suitable for winter outings in a family-friendly setting. For a change of activity, Cascade de la Pisse, 4.9 km away, is a destination for a walk through the Champsaur scenery. Golf de Gap-Bayard is 17 km away. Saint-Michel-de-Chaillol and the surrounding hamlets also let you discover the valley’s architecture and mountain life. A car makes it easier to reach villages and more distant sights; the chalets’ private parking means you can park on site.

In winter, bring clothing suited to mountain conditions and enjoy the slopes when snow conditions allow. From late spring to autumn, the trails invite you to explore the alpine pastures and take in the Écrins landscape. You can spend the day hiking, stopping in a valley village and returning to the terrace facing the peaks. Weather conditions change with altitude, so check the local forecast before a hike or mountain outing.
