Chambres au CampdeBase

The five rooms at Chambres au CampdeBase accommodate two to six people. They differ in capacity and bed configuration: the Double Room with Mountain View sleeps two, while the Deluxe, Triple, Quadruple and Family Rooms can accommodate larger groups. They range from 12 to 14 m². All have access to a shared bathroom and a shared kitchen.

The rooms have a terrace with views of the mountain and river. The kitchen includes a hob, a fridge, a dishwasher and kitchenware; a coffee machine, a kettle, an oven and a microwave are also available. A table and dining area let you eat on site. Bed options range from a large double bed to single beds, with bunk beds in the Deluxe Room.

Chambres au CampdeBase has a shared kitchen where you can prepare meals. It includes a hob, an oven, a microwave, a fridge and a dishwasher, as well as kitchenware, a toaster and an electric kettle. A coffee machine and dining table complete this shared space. Guests can access a terrace with outdoor furniture and an al fresco dining area.

After a day out in the mountains, you can take a break indoors in the shared lounge with a TV. Activities available nearby include hiking, skiing, cycling, fishing and canoeing. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the house. Free public parking is nearby, with no reservation required. Pets are allowed on request, and a supplement may apply. Family rooms, board games and baby safety gates are among the other useful facilities for family stays.

La Grave lies in the upper Romanche Valley, at the foot of the Meije massif, amid peaks, mountain streams and alpine hamlets. CampdeBase is in Les Fréaux, a small hamlet in the commune, in an area popular with travellers drawn to mountain activities and the scenery of the Écrins. The pace of a stay changes with the seasons: trails attract walkers in fine weather, while snow turns the slopes into ski terrain.

Cascade de la Pucelle is 330 m away and Chapelle Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Repos is 560 m away. Le Pas dans le Vide viewpoint is 790 m away. The Glaciers de la Meije I ski lift provides access to the La Grave ski area, whose slopes and glacial surroundings attract off-piste skiers. You can also explore the village of La Grave and its shops on a walk through the valley. The D1091 road connects the area with Briançon in one direction and Grenoble in the other; Grenoble-Alpes-Isère Airport is 119 km away.

In summer, bring sturdy shoes for the trails and to discover the waterfalls, alpine pastures and panoramas of Écrins National Park. Cooler days are well suited to cycling or fishing. In winter, snow and ski lifts shape the days on the slopes; mountain conditions mean you should adapt each outing to the weather. In spring and autumn, the valley is quieter, with scenery that changes as the snow melts or the first seasonal colours appear.
