Clos des Iris

The rooms at Le Clos des Iris feature traditional décor and all have a private bathroom, a terrace and a garden view. The single rooms accommodate one person, the double rooms accommodate two, and the quadruple room, made up of two interconnecting rooms, accommodates up to four. Room sizes range from 12 to 26 m². Tea and coffee-making facilities are provided in the accommodation, along with practical amenities such as a desk, a hairdryer and toiletries.

The double rooms differ in their capacity and layout: the Comfort Double Room has a private entrance and an extra-large double bed, while the Double Room with Garden View accommodates one person. The quadruple room combines two single beds and one large double bed across two interconnecting rooms. The single room, which also has a private entrance, is designed for one person and has a single bed. The terraces and garden views are a feature shared by these different layouts.

Le Clos des Iris has several outdoor areas around the house, including a garden and a sun terrace equipped with outdoor furniture. The rooms are non-smoking; some layouts are suitable for families, and the accommodation is entirely on the ground floor. Wi-Fi is free throughout the property. Free private indoor parking is available to guests without the need for prior reservation.

Practical amenities include an electric kettle, a tea or coffee maker, a telephone and internet access. The rooms have a private bathroom with a shower or bath, a toilet, towels, bed linen and a hairdryer. A wardrobe or clothes rack, an alarm clock and a desk complete the amenities. The private terraces come with garden views. Daily housekeeping is provided, and luggage storage is available at reception. À la carte breakfast is served in the dining room or on the shared terrace; the garden also has sun loungers.

Moustiers-Sainte-Marie is a Provençal village in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, set among the hills of the Verdon. Its lanes climb between stone houses and faience workshops, a local speciality for several centuries. Le Clos des Iris is 400 m from the centre: you can walk into the village to explore its passageways and squares and visit Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption Church. The surrounding landscape combines cliffs, plateaux and turquoise waters, and is particularly lively during the summer season.

The Faience Museum presents the history of this craft tradition, while the waterfall and village paths offer nearby walks. Lake Sainte-Croix is a place to enjoy beaches and water activities; Galetas Beach and pedal-boat routes provide access to the Verdon Gorge from the water. The scenic roads of the regional park cross terrain suited to hiking and viewpoints. A car makes it easier to explore the village, the lake and the surrounding natural sites. Valensole Plateau, renowned for its lavender fields, is 28 km away.

In spring and autumn, the trails and surrounding villages are well suited to days of walking, with milder temperatures than in high summer. From late June to July, lavender blooms colour the Valensole landscape. In summer, plan an early morning walk through the lanes or a day by the lake, then explore the gorge by canoe or pedal boat when conditions allow. Moustiers is also a good place to spend a day exploring faience and the scenery of the Verdon without leaving the area.
