Domaine Shambala - gîte en Provence avec une Grande Piscine

Domaine Shambala offers four accommodation options for two people: three studios and a one-bedroom house. The studios measure 29 or 39 m²; the house, with its separate bedroom and living room, offers 52 m². All have a private bathroom, air conditioning and an equipped kitchen. A terrace or patio, garden views and a private entrance are shared features.

Kitchen facilities include a fridge, dishwasher, microwave, kettle and coffee machine. The Studio with Garden View has two single beds, while the other two studios have a very large double bed. The house also has a very large double bed, a washing machine and a terrace overlooking the garden. You can choose between a studio space and a house with separate rooms.

The outdoor spaces include a garden, patio, sun terrace and furniture for dining outdoors. A barbecue is available, as well as sun loungers and pool or beach towels. You can enjoy the heated outdoor pool and go walking, hiking or cycling in the surrounding area. Badminton equipment is also provided.

Each accommodation option has an equipped kitchen or kitchenette, including a hob, fridge, dishwasher, microwave and kettle. The accommodation also includes a private bathroom, a TV and an internet connection. Private parking is free; Wi-Fi is free in the rooms. The property is for adults only, and pets are allowed on request at no extra charge. Private check-in and check-out are available, with a quick check-in and payment process.

Velaux is a Provençal village in Bouches-du-Rhône, between the Aix area and the Étang de Berre. Its old centre, narrow streets and small squares give the village a close-knit feel, surrounded by Mediterranean landscapes. There are farmers’ markets and walking routes nearby. The pace is quieter than in the neighbouring large towns, and a car is useful for exploring the region.

The Ventabren windmill, 1.9 km away, is a reminder of the area’s rural heritage. The Camp des Milles Memorial Site, 9 km away, tells the story of a former internment and deportation camp housed in a brickworks. In Aix-en-Provence, Atelier Cézanne and Musée Granet offer the chance to discover the painter’s work and the city’s art collections; the old town adds fountains, townhouses and lively streets to your visit. Marseille-Provence Airport is 10 km away, and the stations at Rognac and Berre serve the area.

Spring and autumn are well suited to walks in the villages and visits to Aix, when temperatures are generally milder. In summer, you can make the most of the pool and plan outings for early morning or late afternoon to suit the Provençal heat. Spend a day visiting Aix’s museums and old town, then choose another excursion to explore the landscapes around the Étang de Berre. Farmers’ markets also offer a chance to discover local produce throughout the week.
