The Parc Spirou and Wave Island attractions are about 3 km away and offer activities particularly suited to families. Monteux’s centre brings together old gates, religious buildings and public spaces such as Place de la Glacière; the Marché des Producteurs is a place to discover local produce. Avignon, with the Palace of the Popes and its medieval heritage, is 21 km away. Monteux train station, 1.7 km away, connects the town to the regional rail network; a car makes it easier to explore Vaucluse.

Summer days are well suited to water parks and early-morning visits, before the hottest hours. In spring and autumn, temperatures are often more favourable for walks in the villages and visits to Avignon. An excursion to the landscapes of Mont Ventoux or the department’s wine-growing villages offers a change from city visits and outdoor activities. Local markets also give you the chance to sample Provençal produce, including fruit and seasonal specialities.
