La Calade, maison de village

La Calade is an entire 120 m² holiday home with three bedrooms accommodating up to six people. Each has its own bathroom and toilet; the house has three bathrooms in total. The beds are double beds. Two bedrooms are air-conditioned, while the living areas bring together a lounge, dining area and kitchen. The kitchen-diner is on the garden level.

The kitchen is equipped with an oven, hob, fridge, dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine, kettle and toaster. The enclosed garage contains a washing machine and tumble dryer. The terrace overlooks the garden, swimming pool and town. Spread across two connected buildings, the house extends over several floors linked by stone staircases. Its bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and shared spaces make it suitable for family stays or trips with friends.

La Calade combines equipped indoor spaces with several outdoor facilities. The kitchen has a hob, oven, fridge, dishwasher, microwave, kettle and toaster. A dining table lets you enjoy meals in the house. The coffee machine, kitchenware and cleaning products complete the facilities. The washing machine and tumble dryer are in the enclosed garage.

Outside, you have a garden, a sun terrace, outdoor furniture and a dining area. The private swimming pool is surrounded by a fence, and a barbecue is provided. The flat-screen TV and Blu-ray, CD and DVD players offer different entertainment options. Free private parking is available on site. Wi-Fi is free in the communal areas. This detached house has family and non-smoking rooms; the upper floors are accessible only by stairs.

Gordes is a hilltop village in the Luberon, known for its pale stone houses and lanes that climb towards the castle. From the heights, you can look out over the hills and Provençal landscapes. Explore the village on foot, taking time to wander through its passageways and little squares and enjoy the views over the countryside. It suits travellers who enjoy characterful villages, heritage and walks in the hinterland rather than stays by the sea.

Gordes Castle overlooks the lanes and hosts exhibitions in a building shaped by several periods of construction. The Caves du Palais Saint-Firmin offer a chance to explore underground spaces carved beneath the village. Outside the centre, the Village des Bories brings together dry-stone buildings characteristic of the region. Sénanque Abbey, set in a valley, is known for its Cistercian architecture and lavender fields. A car makes it easier to visit these sites and nearby Luberon villages; the railway stations at Cavaillon and L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue serve the region.

Spring and autumn are good times for walks through the villages and drives along the roads of the Luberon Regional Nature Park. In summer, lavender blooms across the surrounding landscapes, while hot days make it worth planning visits for early morning and leaving time to rest. You could start the day by exploring Gordes, continue with a visit to Sénanque or the Bories, then finish on a terrace overlooking the hills.
