La Pastorale

La Pastorale offers double rooms, a triple room, a quadruple room and two-bedroom apartments. The accommodation ranges from 40 to 90 m². Each has a private bathroom and air conditioning; the rooms also have a seating area. Views are of the garden, swimming pool or inner courtyard, with one of the double rooms also offering a mountain view.

Private outdoor spaces vary by accommodation: some rooms have a balcony or terrace, while the apartments have two bedrooms, a living area and a well-equipped kitchen. Bathrooms have either a shower or a bath, depending on the category. The quadruple rooms and apartments offer more space for families, while the double rooms sleep two people. The double and triple rooms feature antique furniture.

La Pastorale’s outdoor areas include a garden, patio, sun terrace and private swimming pool. Outdoor furniture and an al fresco dining area let you enjoy the Provençal days. There are also sun loungers, an open-air bath and a solarium.

For leisure, the guest house provides a games room, table tennis, a billiards table and board games. The surrounding area is suited to walking, cycling, hiking, canoeing and horse riding; a golf course is less than 3 km away. The rooms have a flat-screen TV, and several also have a kitchen, washing machine or tumble dryer. The on-site café, fruit and tea or coffee-making facilities complete the amenities.

Lagnes is a village in Vaucluse, amid the hills and Provençal villages bordering the Luberon. Its narrow streets and stone houses offer a glimpse of rural village life, while the surrounding roads pass through orchards, fields and limestone landscapes. La Pastorale is away from the centre, in a Provençal mas, a setting suited to travellers who want to alternate village visits, time outdoors and quiet moments.

Lagnes village is 760 m away. Fontaine-de-Vaucluse, 3.2 km away, is known for its spring, where the Sorgue gushes from the foot of the cliffs; the village is also home to a museum dedicated to François Pétrarque and a paper mill. Those interested in heritage can continue to Château de Gordes and the Village des Bories, a group of dry-stone huts that bears witness to the Luberon’s rural architecture. L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue–Fontaine-de-Vaucluse train station is 5 km away; a car makes it easier to get between the villages and sights in the region.

In spring, the paths and markets can be explored in mild weather. In summer, the hot days make it worth planning walks for early morning and saving the hottest hours for the swimming pool. Lavender colours parts of Vaucluse in early summer, while September brings softer light for visiting Gordes and nearby villages. A day can combine Fontaine-de-Vaucluse, a stop in a Luberon village and late afternoon in the garden.
