Sainte-Anastasie-sur-Issole is a village in the Var hinterland, in the Issole valley. The landscape alternates between wooded hills, small country roads and villages with squares, churches and traditional local houses. The atmosphere is rural rather than seaside: people come here to slow down, enjoy a garden and explore the surrounding area by car. Those who enjoy walks and peaceful stays will appreciate this less coastal side of the Var.

You can explore the village and its surroundings on short outings. Sainte-Anastasie railway station is 650 m away. At 970 m, the village centre is where you can find Saint-Just Church and the village streets; the Arboretum, 1.2 km away, offers a break among the trees. Besse-sur-Issole, 3.4 km away, is another village to explore. Brignoles, known for its Palais des Comtes de Provence, is 8 km away. A car makes it easier to reach the coast or visit more distant towns.

Spring and autumn are good times for walks in the hinterland, when temperatures are milder. In summer, warm days invite you to alternate morning outings with breaks by the water or in the garden. You can spend a day in Brignoles and the neighbouring villages, then leave time for country paths. The area also offers opportunities for hikes, fishing and discovering the landscapes of the Var, before returning to the quiet of Sainte-Anastasie-sur-Issole at the end of the day.
