Le Cabanon de Marie is in the countryside, a few kilometres from the centres of Saignon and Apt. Porte de Saignon and Notre-Dame de Pitié Church offer a glimpse of the village’s heritage; in Apt, Musée d'Apt presents local history and crafts. Fort de Buoux, set on a rocky spur, makes an excursion to the remains of an ancient defensive site. The Ochre Trail, 14 km away, passes through colourful landscapes around Roussillon. Apt bus station is 2.5 km away; a car makes it easier to travel between villages and natural attractions.

Spring and autumn are pleasant seasons for exploring the villages and trails of the Luberon, while summer brings hot days and more visitors.
