Le Grand Gîte

Le Grand Gîte is rented as an entire 80 m² house designed to accommodate up to four people. It has two bedrooms and a private bathroom; each bedroom has sleeping arrangements for two people. The layout includes one large double bed and one extra-large double bed. The house has air conditioning and soundproofing, as well as a flat-screen TV.

The kitchenette lets you prepare meals with a hob, a refrigerator, a microwave, a toaster, a kettle and kitchenware. An indoor dining area completes the space. The terrace overlooks the garden and has an outdoor dining area with furniture. The house also has a private entrance, a seating area and a view of the inner courtyard. A coffee machine, bed linen, towels and toiletries are also provided.

Le Grand Gîte has a seasonal outdoor swimming pool with a shallow end, and a garden arranged for enjoying the outdoors. The sun terrace, sun loungers and parasols invite you to sit outside; outdoor furniture and a dining area also make it possible to eat outdoors. The accommodation is detached and has a private entrance.

Free private parking is available on site without prior reservation. Wi-Fi is free in the rooms. Indoors, air conditioning, heating and soundproofed rooms complete the facilities. The house has a kitchenette with a refrigerator, hob, microwave, kettle and kitchenware, as well as a dining area. Bed linen and towels are provided; the private bathroom has a shower and a hairdryer. Breakfast is served on site, with continental, vegetarian and vegan choices, as well as a gluten-free option.

Vaison-la-Romaine combines a lively Provençal town with remarkable ancient heritage. The centre stretches between the lower town and the medieval town, dominated by the remains of the castle. You can wander through the narrow streets, squares and markets, then discover traces of several centuries of history. The surrounding landscapes combine vineyards, hilltop villages and limestone hills; the atmosphere changes with the seasons, from lively summer days to a quieter pace in spring or autumn.

The archaeological sites of Puymin and La Villasse reveal the streets and monuments of the ancient Roman town. The Roman Bridge crosses the Ouvèze and leads to the medieval quarter, while Notre-Dame-de-Nazareth Cathedral and its cloister bear witness to local religious history. Mont Ventoux, 11 km away, draws hiking and cycling enthusiasts; its slopes and panoramic views offer another way to explore Vaucluse. Nearby wine-growing villages, including Villedieu, are also a chance to explore vineyard landscapes and discover rural heritage.

A car makes it easier to travel between Vaison, the villages and hiking trailheads. In summer, plan visits to the remains and outdoor walks for the morning, before the hottest part of the day; the seasonal swimming pool then offers a break back at the house. Spring and autumn are well suited to walking routes and vineyard outings, with generally milder temperatures. For a varied day, spend the morning exploring the ancient and medieval centre, then head for the hills of Mont Ventoux or the surrounding villages.
