Le Moulin Des Ocres

Le Moulin Des Ocres offers six self-contained units: one- or two-bedroom holiday homes, one- or two-bedroom apartments, a duplex and a studio. All have a kitchen and a private bathroom. The most spacious units accommodate up to six people, while the studio is designed for two guests. Several layouts combine a double bed with a sofa bed; the houses and the two-bedroom apartment also have two double beds.

The units range from 30 to 73 m². Some houses and apartments have a terrace overlooking the garden; several units also include a barbecue. The kitchens feature a refrigerator, an oven, a microwave and a coffee machine, among other equipment. Some apartments and houses have a dishwasher. The duplex stands out for its more compact 36 m², while the two-bedroom apartment offers the most space at 73 m².

The garden and outdoor areas are well suited to dining outside: you’ll find outdoor furniture, an outdoor dining area, several terraces and a barbecue. Sun loungers and parasols are also available by the outdoor swimming pool, which has a shallow end. A shared lounge with a TV and a games room complete the communal spaces. Families have access to a playground and outdoor play equipment for children.

Activities include table tennis, billiards, badminton and walking tours. You can also go cycling, hiking, canoeing, fishing or horse riding in the surrounding area. Massages and an open-air bath are among the wellness services available. Each unit has a kitchen equipped for preparing meals; some have a dishwasher and a private terrace. Private parking is free, as is Wi-Fi throughout the property. Pets are allowed, possibly for an additional charge.

Apt is a Provençal town in Vaucluse, in the Luberon Regional Natural Park. Its old town, warm-coloured façades and shopping streets tell a long story connected with markets and candied fruit. The countryside around the town alternates between farmland, hills and stone villages. It suits travellers who enjoy southern landscapes, village visits and day trips by car that combine heritage and nature.

In Apt, Sainte-Anne Cathedral and the Musée d'Apt offer an insight into local history and the region’s traditions. The Saturday market brings Provençal produce and seasonal stalls to the town-centre streets. In Gargas, the Mines de Bruoux reveal former galleries cut into the ochre cliffs. The Ochre Trail in Roussillon offers a walk among colourful formations. The villages of Villars and Gargas provide further stops to admire the architecture and landscapes of the Luberon. A car makes it easier to visit these sights and nearby villages.

Spring and autumn are good seasons for walks and sightseeing, with generally milder temperatures than in the height of summer. In summer, plan walks for the morning or late afternoon, when the light brings out the red and orange shades of the ochre. A day can combine the Apt market, a visit to the Bruoux galleries and a break in a nearby village. In late June and July, lavender fields add colour to several Luberon landscapes; routes vary according to flowering and seasonal conditions.
