Le Provençal

Le Provençal offers five room categories to suit solo travellers, couples and small groups. The Single Room and Small Single Room accommodate one person; the 15 m² single room is more spacious than the 10 m² small room. The Standard Queen Room offers 13 m² for two people, while the Twin Room measures 16 m². The Comfort Triple Room, the largest at 17 m², can accommodate up to three people.

All rooms include a private bathroom, air conditioning and a flat-screen TV. Bed arrangements vary by category: a single bed, a double bed or a combination of one single bed and one double bed in the triple room. The triple room also stands out for its bath. The rooms are in a building where the upper floors are accessible by stairs.

Le Provençal offers free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel and free public indoor parking on site. The rooms have air conditioning, with heating as an additional amenity. The rooms are non-smoking, and some categories can accommodate families. Pets are allowed, possibly for an additional charge.

Tarascon is a Provençal town in Bouches-du-Rhône, on the left bank of the Rhône, opposite Beaucaire. Its old town is best explored on foot, with fortified gates, churches, townhouses and shopping streets. The medieval castle overlooks the quays and recalls the town’s strategic role on the river. It has the feel of a lively town shaped by the history and traditions of Provence.

The Château du Roi René, now known as the Château de Tarascon, lets you explore historic rooms and enjoy views over the Rhône. The Collégiale Royale Sainte-Marthe is another major local landmark, linked to the legend of Saint Martha. The Musée d’Art et d’Histoire and the Souleïado Textile Museum offer a glimpse of the town’s collections and craftsmanship. Tarascon railway station is 250 m away; the Arènes d’Arles are 14 km away and offer a chance to see one of the region’s major Roman monuments.

You can start the day with a walk through the old town, continue with a visit to the castle and finish along the quays. In spring and autumn, temperatures are often pleasant for walking and exploring nearby towns. The Provençal summer brings more heat, so it is best to plan visits for the morning and take a break during the hottest part of the day. Tarascon is also a good stop for cyclists, with its secure bicycle garage and Accueil Vélo label.
