Ramatuelle, 3.6 km away, is a Provençal village known for its narrow lanes and old houses; Gassin, 5.2 km away, also has a hilltop village centre. Saint-Tropez offers a chance to explore the harbour, museums and streets of the old town. A car makes it easier to travel between the beaches and the villages of the peninsula; Toulon-Hyères Airport is 36 km away.

In summer, the coast is very busy, and it is worth planning beach outings early in the day, before the busiest hours. In spring and September, temperatures are often still suitable for walks and days by the sea, with a quieter atmosphere than during the peak summer season. A day can be divided between swimming at Gigaro, walking along the coast and visiting a village such as Ramatuelle. The coastal paths and protected landscapes of the peninsula also attract hikers.
