Maison Rouge

Maison Rouge offers three room types, all with a private bathroom, a desk and views of the mountains and Sainte-Baume. The two 15 m² Double Rooms accommodate two people; one has a shower and the other has two single beds. The larger 25 m² Double Room with Bath can sleep three guests. It has a large double bed and a single bed, and is distinguished by its bath.

The rooms have free toiletries, towels, a toilet and heating. Outdoor furniture is also provided. The upper floors are accessible by stairs only. Depending on the room type you choose, you will find a layout suited to a couple, two people who wish to sleep separately or a small group of three. Views of the Sainte-Baume hills are shared by all three room types.

Maison Rouge provides a garden and a sun terrace with outdoor furniture, where you can enjoy the open-air spaces. A shared lounge, also set up as a TV room, offers a place to relax indoors. Walkers can explore the local trails; walking and hiking are among the activities available in the area. Cycling is another way to discover the landscapes around Plan dʼAups.

Free private parking is available on site without prior reservation, and free Wi-Fi is accessible throughout the property. Pets are allowed on request, with a possible supplement; pet bowls are provided. The rooms are non-smoking, and the upper floors are accessible by stairs only. In the rooms, you will find a private bathroom, towels, free toiletries, a desk and mountain views, among other features.

Plan-d’Aups-Sainte-Baume is in the Sainte-Baume massif, a wooded upland area in the Provençal hinterland. The village and its surroundings attract travellers who want to walk in the forest, explore the heights and discover the landscapes of Var away from the coastal resorts. Days here lend themselves to hikes and stops in the hamlets, among pine woods, cliffs and shaded trails.

The Sainte-Baume Managed Biological Reserve and Castelette Cave are among the nearby natural sites, at 1.8 km and 1.5 km respectively. Sainte-Marie-Madeleine Cave, a pilgrimage site associated with Provençal tradition, is 2.1 km away; the trail also leads towards the Saint-Pilon Chapel and the heights of the massif. At 5.2 km, Nans-les-Pins offers another village to visit in the area. A car makes it easier to travel between trailheads and nearby villages; Toulon-Hyères Airport is 65 km away.

Spring and autumn are well suited to long walks, with temperatures generally milder than in the height of summer. In summer, set out early to enjoy the paths before the hottest hours and take water with you. You can combine a day’s climb to Sainte-Marie-Madeleine Cave with a walk along the ridges, then return via the forest trails. You can also explore the region by bike, choosing a route suited to the terrain. The landscapes change with the light and the seasons, from cool woodland to open views across Provence.
