Metafort

Metafort offers several double rooms, a triple room, a one-bedroom gîte and a cottage with garden views. The double rooms sleep two and range in size from 25 to 35 m²; the triple room also measures 35 m² and can accommodate three people. The gîte has 43 m² of space, a kitchen and a view of the pool. The cottage is more compact, with 15 m² and a partial view of the garden.

All accommodation is air-conditioned. Most rooms have a private bathroom, and several include a bath or shower, a coffee machine and outdoor furniture. Depending on the category, you can enjoy a terrace, a pool view, a dining area or a kitchen with a fridge and microwave. Bed configurations vary, with double beds, single beds or a combination of the two. The gîte and cottage offer different facilities from the rooms in the main house.

Metafort brings together several spaces for relaxing and enjoying a range of activities. The heated, saltwater outdoor infinity pool is complemented by a private hot tub, a pool cover and sun loungers. The sun terrace, garden and outdoor furniture let you enjoy meals outside, while a picnic area offers another place to settle in. An on-site bar, snack bar and café add to the communal spaces.

Wellness services include body, back, neck and foot massages, couples’ massages and beauty treatments. You can hire bicycles and join bike tours; the surrounding area is also suitable for walking, hiking, cycling, horse riding and canoeing. A shared lounge with a TV, a shuttle service and an airport shuttle are also among the facilities. The property has a shared kitchen, equipped bathrooms and an internet connection. On-site parking is free and public.

Méthamis is a village in the Vaucluse, among the hills of the Monts de Vaucluse, between the Nesque valley and the landscapes around Mont Ventoux. The Provençal village has a peaceful feel, with its narrow streets, church and stone houses. The surrounding countryside combines limestone hills, forests and farmland; it will appeal to travellers looking for walks and views rather than the bustle of a large town. A car makes it easier to travel between the villages and natural sites in this part of the department.

Mont Ventoux dominates the region and draws hikers and cyclists, while the Nesque Gorge offers a spectacular road through cliffs and rocky scenery. The villages of Blauvac and Villes-sur-Auzon offer a glimpse of the area’s architecture and local life. Further afield, Gordes is known for its dry-stone houses and sloping lanes; Sénanque Abbey, surrounded by lavender fields, makes for a memorable visit to the Monts de Vaucluse. Carpentras railway station is 15 km away, and Marseille-Provence Airport is 62 km away.

In spring and autumn, temperatures are pleasant for exploring the trails and roads through the gorge. In summer, the villages and Provençal markets are best visited in the morning, before the hottest part of the day; lavender colours some of the local landscapes in early summer. For a varied day out, spend the morning hiking or cycling, then explore a hilltop village and enjoy the evening light on the hills. Mont Ventoux also has some fine routes for experienced cyclists.
