Saint-Véran Cathedral and the Comtadin Jewish Museum offer a glimpse of the local heritage. Saint-Jacques Hermitage, on the hill, combines a visit with a walk. For a trip into the countryside, the villages of Taillades and Robion lead towards the landscapes of the Luberon; Thouzon Caves are another excursion nearby. Avignon, with the Palace of the Popes and its historic centre, is 24 km away. Cavaillon train station is 2.3 km from the house, while Marseille-Provence Airport is 46 km away.

Spring and early autumn are good times for walks in the villages and visits to heritage sites, with generally milder temperatures than in midsummer. In June and July, lavender fields attract visitors to some parts of the Luberon; flowering depends on the conditions each year. You could start the day by exploring the centre of Cavaillon, continue along the paths of Saint-Jacques Hill, then take the road to nearby villages. In summer, it is best to plan outdoor walks for the morning or late afternoon.
