Petit mas en Provence

Le Petit mas en Provence has a self-contained 50 m² accommodation unit, arranged to welcome up to four people. The sleeping area comprises a bedroom with a double bed; the living room has a sofa bed. This layout suits a couple, a small family or travellers who want to share a house while having a separate living area. The bathroom is private.

The fully equipped kitchen lets you prepare meals on site and includes a hob, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a kettle and a coffee machine. Air conditioning, a washing machine and a flat-screen TV with cable channels complete the indoor facilities. Château du Roi René overlooks the river and is one of the town’s most notable landmarks. The atmosphere is that of a southern French town, with shaded squares and heritage sites to explore at a leisurely pace, away from major urban centres.

Château de Tarascon lets you explore several centuries of history in a medieval fortress beside the water. Église Sainte-Marthe, associated with the legend of the saint, is also worth a visit in the town centre. Musée du tissu Souleïado presents the history of famous Provençal fabrics. Across the Rhône, Beaucaire has its own castle and historic streets; the two towns are easy to visit together. Tarascon railway station is 2.7 km from the accommodation. A car is useful for exploring the region’s landscapes and villages, while trains serve the town.

Spring and autumn are pleasant times to explore the streets and heritage sites without the summer heat. In summer, plan visits for early morning or late afternoon, and take a break in the shade during the hottest hours. A simple itinerary could combine the castle, a walk through the old town and a visit to Beaucaire, before returning to the terrace and garden. The surrounding area also opens onto Provençal landscapes, from the Rhône and agricultural plains to the roads towards the Alpilles.
